The Electromech Vigilance Unit was developed in 1996 and has been fitted to multiple vehicles in the Great Britain as well as in Ireland.
There are versions of the Vigilance also fitted on trams in Poland & Portugal.
Due to on going obsolescence of key components within the design, it was recently decided that the design was to be modernised.
The key to the new development was to achieve ALL of the various functions which appear in different installations within one PCB.
The updated version will cater for 24V, 72V, 110V & -52V installations. The PCB will be retro-fittable into existing units, but will also be available new.
Due to the programmable nature of the design it will be able to be utilised for various other applications.
The new development is due to be available and fully type tested by Jun 2023.
At which point ALL new Vigilance Units will be updated to this level.
