New Class 166 Panels near completion.
The culmination of a 3-year project is upon us.
The Class 166 Cab refurbishment project has been a work in progress for over 3 years.
It was unfortunately another victim of the COVID legacy with the working prototypes just going into service trial at the start of the pandemic.
With development of this project put on hold and the word from the customer that it may not restart, just another COVID victim.
Just after the shutdown we received word of a new manager in charge of the project,
He had heard a tale that 2 Class 166s that have been running round in service with new panels fitted for a year.
After some investigation on his part the path led to Electromech and with the trial results and feedback from the drivers the project was revived.
With a updated paint theme, improved graphics ,enhanced dimming facility via a new SMT PCB we are now close to going into full production of 20 Trainsets.
